English Country House
This new residence was designed for a fun-loving, active young family who has an unusually keen interest and appreciation for art, architecture and graceful landscape design. “The expansive, rolling front lawn and spacious rear garden were created by carefully planning the grading and employing a series of discrete retaining walls. The result was a strong visual and physical interaction of house and grounds. “ The house is not small, but owing to subtle manipulation of scale and axial alignment, a satisfying sense of intimacy was achieved. The well-appointed master suite is located on the main floor with large windows looking into the rear garden. Balancing this master wing across an elegant elongated pool is an arcaded porch which may be screened or not by opening or closing mechanical screen panels set into the arched walls. The children’s bedrooms are located on the second floor on one end of the house, while at the other is a guest suite. Additional amenities include a fully excavated lower level with recreation and spa areas.
