Mr. Spitzmiller transformed his personal residence from a humble low-slung 1950’s ranch style house to a French country style manor with an airy and welcoming floor plan, great for entertaining. A second floor was added to accommodate a third bedroom/bath, which also increased the needed height for appropriate overall exterior massing. The exterior was completely painted then distressed, a new bay window added, and the front door centered. Without changing the basic footprint of the house, the floor plan was re-designed by borrowing space from non-functional rooms to increase the size of important rooms.
