Accessory structures are particularly attractive when they share the architecture of the main house. Our open-air pool pavilion was designed not only to compliment the main house, but because it is open like a porch at the front and at the rear it serves as a wonderful picture frame or gateway between the garden rooms it connects: in front is the formal garden and the pool and pool terrace; in the rear the grounds wind into the woods. Inside the pavilion a beamed ceiling follows the slope of the pavilion’s roof creating a lofty, comfortable refuge from the afternoon sun. Garden storage on one end of the pavilion is balanced by dressing and baths on the other end.
